General condition
Mae Fah Luang Subdistrict was originally a subdistrict within Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province. It was later separated to become Mae Fah Luang Sub-district in 1992, receiving its name from Her Majesty Queen Sri Savangavadhana. It was elevated to Mae Fah Luang District in 1996. Mae Fah Luang Subdistrict is a local administrative organization with responsibility for 19 villages.
Mae Fah Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization is located at UTM coordinates 0584338/2241192, north of Mae Fah Luang District. The general topography of Mae Fah Luang Subdistrict consists of high, complex mountains approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, part of the Dan Lao mountain range that separates Thailand and Myanmar. The northern part of Mae Fah Luang District is a forest planted about 15 years ago. The forest is lush and moist throughout the year, serving as the source of the Mae Nam and its tributaries, including the Mae Peun stream, Huai Rai, and numerous smaller streams. Water flows year-round, providing moisture to the local population, which comprises various hill tribe groups such as the Akha, Lahu Black, Lahu Red, Yunnan Chinese, Tai Lue, Tai Yai, and Tai Lua, who live peacefully in the valleys and mountain slopes. The subdistrict comprises 19 main villages and 5 satellite villages. It has the status of a subdistrict according to the Local Administration Act and is a local administrative organization called... To the west, it borders the Thoed Thai subdistrict and Myanmar.

Climate: The climate is a tropical monsoon type with three seasons:
- Summer starts from March to April. The average temperature is 27°C and it is characterized by hot and humid weather.
- The rainy season runs from May to October, with an average temperature of 22°C, characterized by heavy rainfall and gusty winds.
- Winter season runs from November to February. The average temperature is 10°C, with cold to very cold conditions.
